CHICAGO'S ORIGINAL IOWA HAWKEYE BAR!

"In Heaven there is no beer, that's why we drink it here!" Merkle's is Chicago's Original and Official Iowa Hawkeye's bar. We opened our doors and flew the Black & Gold flag in December of 2004, just before the Capital One Bowl. Warren Holloway made "The Catch", the Iowa Fight Song was sang, and the rest is history!

Not only during the football season, but all throughout the year, you're sure to find many Iowa Hawkeyes in Merkle's: former and current Hawkeye athletes, alumnis, coaches, and good ole fans. There's always a good possibility you may run into an "old buddy from Iowa" here at Merkle's! We are also proud to say we are owned and operated by Iowa Alumnis.

With the walls covered with Iowa flags, pennants, and Hawkeye memorabila, we're sure to make any Hawkeye feel as if they were still in Iowa City! Join us for all the games throughout the season at Merkle's... otherwise known as The Best Game Watch Outside of Kinnick!
